Celebrating the launch of the Centenary Way: Explore it today!

Following our official launch earlier this month, we’re delighted to announce that the Centenary Way is now ready for you to explore!

Created to celebrate 100 years of the Campaign to Protect Rural England standing up for the countryside, this new circular walk takes you through the beautiful High Blue Hills of Gloucestershire; taking in the Cotswold villages of Notgrove, Salperton and Hazelton. At 5 miles, the route is of moderate difficulty, with some ups and downs along the way.

Why not head outdoors and experience the countryside CPRE works so hard to protect? As you walk the Way, look out for our trailpost and waymarks to guide you along the route!

Our launch event

On Thursday 4 June, we brought together local organisations, volunteers, and stakeholders for the inaugural walk of the Centenary Way, followed by a celebratory reception at the Nuttery in Notgrove.

We were thrilled by the fantastic turnout for this first official walk!

At our reception, guests enjoyed live entertainment from the Miserden Morris Dancers and Johnny Coppin, alongside refreshments. Invited speakers also shared remarks, including our Vice President Dame Fiona Reynolds, recently appointed High Sheriff of Gloucestershire — marking a special moment in our centenary year.
