Since 2007, our Awards have celebrated more than 100 outstanding projects across Gloucestershire. From community-led housing initiatives and nature recovery projects, to village shops and local facilities, our project Awards recognise the initiatives making a difference to the countryside and the communities that depend on it.
In 2026, we we’re honoured to introduce the Richard Lloyd Countryside Champion Award, in memory of our late Vice Chair who established and championed our Awards programme from its beginnings in 2007.
This special Award recognises an individual whose passion, commitment and dedication have made an exceptional contribution to Gloucestershire’s countryside and environment, reflecting the values, passion that Richard embodied throughout his life.

Every autumn, we host our Awards Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of our Award recipients and the inspiring work being done to protect and enhance Gloucestershire’s countryside and communities.
We are delighted to be returning to The Gillyflower on the Elmore Estate for this year’s event, thanks to the generosity of owner Anselm Guise and his team.
A recipient of one of our Project Awards, The Gillyflower is a beautifully designed sustainable events venue and the perfect setting to celebrate Gloucestershire’s most inspiring people and projects.
The estate is also home to Elmore Wild, another Project Award recipient, which is helping to restore biodiversity through pioneering rewilding work while offering unique treehouse accommodation immersed in nature.
