We cordially invite you and a friend to join Sir Henry Elwes for an exclusive tour of his stunning collection of rare and champion trees.

4th October, 2 – 4pm

Bring a friend to this exclusive member’s only event and help us build our membership community.

You will be guided through the estate’s spectacular ‘plantsman collection’ by owner Sir Henry Elwes and his head gardener.  As you stand under the glorious green canopies, Sir Henry will regale us with fascinating stories about the trees, their worldwide discovery and the arboretum’s history.

With a sensational collection of over 250 trees across the arboretum, this event is a must for any nature lover! Not only are the gardens home to an array of rare specimens from around the world, they are also home to some of the oldest trees in the country.  Fifteen UK champion trees and thirty-five Gloucestershire champion trees, the biggest of their kind, call Colesbourne home and you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at their sheer size and beauty as we hear more about them.

As if this isn’t enticing enough, the arboretum was honoured with one of the seventy ancient trees chosen to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a must see! With tea and scones to round off your visit, this is the perfect afternoon to celebrate your membership and introduce a like-minded friend, family member or colleague to the vital work of CPRE Gloucestershire.
