Thriving rural communities need to be well-connected with good public transport in order to thrive, but CPRE’s research, with the Campaign for Better Transport, has found that 56% of small towns in the South West and North East of England are found to be ‘transport deserts’ or at risk of becoming one. We’re calling for the government to invest in rural communities by establishing a dedicated rural transport fund.
