Each month we will be talking to a Gloucestershire person about an interesting topic as part of our Topical Talks series.

Our first Topical Talk is with Anselm Guise, member of CPRE Gloucestershire, and owner of Elmore Court in Stroud about his fascinating rewilding project.

'We have become a little bit apart from nature where we need to be a part of nature'
Anselm Guise

We talked to Anselm about his rewilding project on his 1000 acre estate, which allows land to return back to nature. He talks about their plans for the future including the introduction of Tamworth pigs and Exmoor ponies. He also tells us how he went from DJing around the world to becoming the owner of Elmore Court!

Anselm is a member of CPRE Gloucestershire. Find out more about membership here.

In the video Anselm mentions the ‘Knepp experiment’ in West Sussex whose story is told in the book ‘Wilding: The return of nature to a British farm’. We have a lovely review of this book at our Book Club, you can read it here.

Coming up: Next month we’ll be talking to Dr Neil Havard of the Cotswolds Astronomical Society about dark skies, light pollution and our Star Count event which runs from 6-14 February.
