CPRE Gloucestershire Awards Ceremony: undaunted by Covid 19 restrictions, our awards scheme went mobile, and digital!
The aim of our Awards, now in their thirteenth year, is to celebrate initiatives across Gloucestershire that enhance our environment and the life of our communities. The Awards are about encouraging high environmental standards, recognising exemplars of good practice and generally promoting a positive agenda for change.
For our Awards 2020, CPRE Gloucestershire hasn’t been deterred by Covid 19 restrictions. We have adapted to the new normal and continued to deliver our much-loved award ceremony virtually, bringing some happiness and giving a morale boost to our county.
Instead of holding an awards ceremony as we normally would in a set venue, we took the awards presentation on the road with our Vice-Chair, Richard Lloyd visiting each of our Award projects individually to congratulate those involved and to hand over their plaque and certificates. Each visit has also been filmed and videos of these are now available on our YouTube channel
So that we can continue to celebrate the awarded projects, we are today (10th November 2020) holding the ceremony via Zoom, so each of our recipients can meet one another virtually, learn more about each other’s projects and further promote their hard work and dedication to their communities.
This year six projects have received Awards, all quite different but all demonstrating creativity and vision.
The six projects are:
Bledington Community Shop and Café
Bourton on the Water Midcounties Co-op store
Lewiston Mill redevelopment at Brimscombe
mindSCAPE in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean
The Sud Brook riparian restoration in Gloucester
Nature Based Solutions at the Oxstalls Campus and Plock Court, in Gloucester
