


At the Great Oak Hall at Westonbirt Arboretum, the 2008 CPRE Gloucestershire Awards
winners were presented with their Plaques by the CPRE Gloucestershire President, Lord Vestey.
The awards were made to:-
Bourne Mills, near Stroud. A sympathetic and imaginative conversion of a derelict mill
into a shop and Cycle workshop by Mr & Mrs Christopher Hart.
Brockweir and Hewelsfield Community Shop incorporating a solar roof for electricity
generation. The re-establishment of the village shop has helped to revitalise the local community.
Plaque presented to Alison Macklin, Business manager.
Brockworth Court Tithe Barn for exemplary reconstruction and renovation recognising
its group importance with the Church and Brockworth Court.
Plaque presented to Mr Tim Wiltshire
Cud Mill Common, Upton St Leonards. Restoration of an important area of unimproved
limestone grassland and re-building dry stone walls, for the benefit of Gloucestershire.
Plaque presented to Upton St Leonards Parish Council
Priory Gardens, Gloucester. Enhancement of land around the remains of St Oswald's Priory
incorporating paths, benches and information boards created for the people of Gloucester
Plaque presented to Lorraine Du Feu, Landscape Architect, Gloucester City Council
Southrop Manor Barns
For the establishment of economic viability for these important buildings in the centre
of Southrop, and carrying out the scheme with exemplary attention to the quality of
detailing and craftsmanship.
Plaque presented to Mr Michael Bertioli OBE and Mrs Caryn Hibbert
