CPRE - Gloucestershire Branch

Cheltenham and Tewkesbury District

Chairman - Tom Hancock

The District covers both Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Boroughs. It is made up of the Severn Vale, where the major population centres are Cheltenham and Tewkesbury, and part of of the Cotswolds, including Winchcombe. Much of the rural area lies either in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) or in the Green Belt between Cheltenham and Gloucester. Both, but especially the Green Belt, are under continual threat from the expansion of the towns and villages. Current Campaigns
  1. Draft RSS indentifying area to NW of Cheltenham for 4,000 additional homes.
  2. 450 houses at Gotherington side of Bishops Cleeve
  3. Development in AONB at Glenfall Way
